1- It is responsible for over all co-ordination and supervision of CTA’s budget cycle. The three-budget cycle is budget preparation at the department’s level, executive’s recommendation and final legislative sanction.

2- It monitors the flow of expenditure from each allocated budgetary heads of CTA’s departments and maintains its overall accounts.

3- It is required to submit its consolidated final budget accounts to Office of auditor General for audit.

4- It is also responsible for monitoring the fiscal position of the CTA and also regulates the flow of revenue to the administration.

5- It also co-ordinates all applications for additional budget requirements for which no sanctions have been made in the original budget.

6- It provides necessary guidance to departments/offices on Budgeting Rules and Regulations. The unit is also referred for interpretation, relaxation and amendment of financial rules of CTA.
